Philippines

The Philippines is a tropical paradise, an archipelago made up of 7000 islands, and is known for it’s climate, world-class water activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling, and surfing. It’s a cultural melting pot and is Asia’s largest Catholic population, with a mix of  influences including Malay, Spanish, Islamic, and American. The people are friendly and positive, and will make a memorable trip. The megacity of Manila will be the starting point for most people, and it can be fun to rent a apartment and explore the city and mega-malls and shop and hang out like the locals.

Islands

Cebu is the most densely populated island, and is an important cultural and economic hub, most people visit for the beaches and diving.

Malapascua Island, located 8km of the off the northeast tip of Cebu, is a great island for diving, known for the dives where you can see Thresher Sharks, and the island itself maintains it’s traditional charm and has escaped being overdeveloped.  For those who are looking to kick back and relax and do nothing, Bantayan Island, off the coast of Cebu, is the place to go. With literally no activities available, only the white sand beaches stretching along the coast, with good places to eat and drink. To really enjoy without a care, rent a holiday house and make it your own island paradise. It’s a one hour flight from Cebu or Manila.

Boracay is one of the leading tourist destinations, home to White Beach, a 4km stretch of sand which is a slice of heaven, and is where most of the hotels, bars and dive shops are located.

Bohol  is only a two hour ferry ride south of Cebu, a tropical paradise known for beaches, jungle, and the endangered Tarsier. The most popular and well known attraction is the Chocolate Hills
