Thailand

One of Asia’s most popular tourist destination, Thailand offers a mix of beaches, jungle, hills, food and culture. Despite the sixteen million tourists that visit Thailand every year the Thai culture is still apparent and won’t disappoint. The capital city of Bangkok will introduce a  hustle and bustle which isn’t necessarily found elsewhere, and Thailand remains a largely agricultural society. It can be fun to rent an apartment in Bangkok at either the start of end of the vacation and explore the city, the markets of Khao San Road, the shopping malls, and the Buddhist temples.

Hills and Jungle

For those wanting to escape the busy city, in northern Thailand the city of Chiang Mai ia a destination of it’s own or a base to venture and explore more of the mountains and surrounding jungle. Rent a holiday house, then book a multi day cooking class and learn the art of Thai cuisine. Trek in the jungle with Elephants, explore hot springs, and chill out and relax. The beautiful Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is in Chiang Mai and is spectacular.

Beaches and Islands

A visit to Thailand wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the coast, either east or west, to enjoy the turquoise water and sparkling white sand beaches. The famous Full Moon Party on the island of Ko Pha Ngan is worth a visit if you are of the partying age and don’t mind how it has now evolved into a full on event, almost like a theme park. Nearby Ko Samui and Ko Lanta are also gorgeous islands to enjoy and have spots for relaxing or partying, depending on what you feel like doing. Rent a tranquil villa right by the sea and live like a local for a few days or even a week. On the west coast Phuket is still a popular place to visit and although quite touristy still can offer travellers some enjoyment. The locals are friendly wherever you go and the food is delicious and cheap.
