What amount should the Host set as the Security Deposit?

$250.00 USD or 10% of the rental cost, whichever is higher.  (You can choose the currency you prefer and have it listed on the website).  Hosts are free to set any Security Deposit amount they want. RentalGuide24 recommends setting a reasonably priced Security Deposit, as in our experience a high security deposit can also affect a guest’s decision in choosing a property and they may look for other rental properties with lower security deposits.

Important: Host are not allowed to require that guest/renter send the Security Deposit in advance via on-line payments, bank transfers etc. Security Deposits are paid at check-in when  the guest arrives at the property.

Disputes
If a problem between a guest and host can’t be resolved by themselves, RentalGuide24 can resolve the dispute by making an impartial and fair decision. RentalGuide24 will ask for the host and guest to send all documentation for review, and will have the final say in the matter.  Both guest and host should follow our fair recommendations.

Major problems

If for some reason a guest doesn’t get their deposit back or is treated unfairly by the host and can’t resolve this with the host, then we suggest that the guest lodges a police report and pursues a legal outcome.

If a host incurs damages which cost more than the Security Deposit will cover and can’t resolve this with the guest, then we suggest that the host lodges a police report and pursues a legal outcome.

In any case, please contact RentalGuide24 and we will try out best to assist.
