Indonesia

Indonesia is a land of islands, stretching 5000km along the equator. There is much that appeals to the adventurer, with plenty of outdoor activities from surfing to trekking, to diving and relaxing on beaches, to keep everyone entertained. The capital city of Jakarta located on the South part of the island Java is a hub of activity, and is the most populated city in all of South East Asia.

Surfing and Diving

There are many famous surfing breaks and diving hotspots in Indonesia. The break of Karang Nyimbor is located on Sumatra, G-Land located in Java East, and Bali and Lombok and well known destinations for surfers. Renting a villa for a week or longer is the ideal way to get the most of a surfing trip. The Gili Islands, a group of 3 islands located off the coast of Lombok, are where some of the most pristine scuba diving is found. For beginners and more experienced divers alike there is plenty of choice, and there are some relaxing holidays houses to rent right on the beach making it an island paradise.

Mountains

Head into the mountains at Sumatra to see one of the main attractions, the Orang-Utan sanctuary at Bukit Lawang. Or if in Central Java hike up the volcanic Gunung Merapi, and then on to explore the Dieng Plateau. On Lombok trekking up Gunung Rinjani  is the adventurous option. If mountains mean relaxing then the best place to head to is Ubud in Bali, the hub of all things peaceful, with spas, yoga retreats and holiday villas easily rented to spend the time relaxing.
